Asa G. Yancey Visiting Student Diversity Scholarship at Emory

The mission of the Asa G. Yancey Visiting Student Diversity Scholarship is to expose minority medical students from underrepresented backgrounds to one of the various training programs in the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. The award aims to increase the number of minority trainees in a surgical residency program at Emory and in surgery as a whole. Medical students selected for this scholarship will be considered for a residency interview at Emory.

Visiting student applications will be accepted through the Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) beginning April 15, 2021. The first available rotation will be the block beginning August 2, 2021. Applications for the Yancey scholarship will be accepted through May 14, 2021. Scholarship applicants must apply for a visiting rotation at Emory through VSAS as well as complete the scholarship application which can be found on the website at:
